Revo-Rack is an innovative design of MX5/Miata NC PRHT Luggage Rack that eliminates the risk of paint damage, caused by steel clamps or straps on the boot lid edge. It's possible to operate the roof on the Roadster Coupe with the rack fitted.
Revo-Rack has been independently tested by TUV Italy part of the global TUV testing and certification business. The rack went through speed, braking and force tests, to ISO 11154:2006 the international standard for car roof bars and the European Directive for general safety 2002/95/CE. Revo-Rack passed all these tests : It won't fly off ! Its the only luggage rack for sale globally tested to this level.
With the Revo-Rack luggage rack no metal touches your MX5 only soft rubber vacuum cups, these are not suction cups, suction creates vacuum. Vacuum cups use the pressure of the atmosphere to secure the rack to your Mazda's boot the grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out. All Revo-Racks are supplied with a cotton storage bag and two webbing luggage straps

Due to the1/8" panel gap on the MX5/Miata between the trunk lid and rear quarter its really too small for a traditional clamp to fit, without damage.
Revo-Racks load carrying capacity has been rated at 20kg / 45Ibs
Not immediately obvious how to release the rack from the trunk - Impossible to pull off, therefore theft is difficult.

The Revo-Rack Frame :
This luggage rack is manufactured from 25mm/1" 6063-T5 tubing this is an aluminium and magnesium alloy ( it will never rust ) As a result the rack frame weighs only 1.672kg / 3.6lb. The cross bars are machine welded in place to ensure consistency, the rack is hand polished and anodised for a deep chrome like shine. The Revo-Rack measures 900x420mm / 36"x17"
The Supports :
The rack is secured to your MX5 using three 115mm vacuum cups, rated by the manufacturer as capable of holding an 18kg/40lb load each. These are very different to suction cups.
Vacuum cups employ the force of atmospheric pressure to grip a surface: When a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface on which it is attached, the weight of Earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place with incredible force. Unlike suction cups that produce a vacuum as they pull away from the surface, Revo-Racks vacuum cups use a hand-actuated pump to efficiently remove air from between the rubber pad and the attaching surface thus creating a much more reliable hold. Because the full face of the pad is brought into contact with the surface, distortion is reduced, allowing the cup to be used with very little risk of damage.
